I have been a fan of Taylor Swift since her very early days. I even saw her perform in a Walmart parking lot in my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky when I was a teenager (as was Taylor — she’s only 8 months older than me) I’ve followed along with every album, every era of Taylor. I moved to Nashville, she lived in Nashville. I moved to New York, Taylor resettled in New Tork. I have always felt so connected to Taylor, her style, and her music. This #RachRecreates has been a long time in the making.
I HAD to get it right and do right by my girl. I hope she maybe even sees this *a girl can dream*I hunted Amazon for all the clothing pieces and accessories similar to hers for each album cover. I rented a photo studio in Brooklyn and blocked off 5 hours to shoot 7 album covers.
One win, one clip-on bangs, and a head of extra extensions — all the blonde hair! So many different versions of Taylor to emulate. From her sweet country roots to her badass reputation days to the rainbow goodness of Lover (it all feels so full circle in a way!) The photoshoot was actually the easy part — together with Leo we worked to composite each image using the high res art from the album covers to get AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the original album covers. It was a labor of love(r) and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Taylor, this one is for you… and for all the SWIFTIES out there who have loved our girl for 13 wonderful years.
