Look ma, I’m in a magazine! I was so excited when Lucky & Crest 3D White invited me to take part in an incredible advertorial shoot on the Upper West Side to share my tips and tricks for entertaining around the holidays.
You can check out the shoot in Lucky’s November 2014 issue, but I’m also
going to share my top entertainment tips here so you can spruce up your
upcoming holiday soirée.

When it comes to the décor this season, I love using purple as a
base color with a hint of metallic. It’s luxe yet unexpected in a sea of reds
and greens. Ditch traditional place cards and personalize seating with Polaroid
pictures. I take my friends’ pictures and write their Instagram handles along
the bottom strip. Then, I place them around the table for a fun and of-the-moment
spin on seating.

I also like to feel relaxed when I entertain, so I typically wear something
festive but comfortable like a floral crop top with a fluted skirt and no
shoes!

Now to the perfect holiday beverage! I
love preparing fresh apple cider made from Upstate-picked apples. Serve it hot
with cinnamon stick stirrers to give it that festive cheer. Here is a recipe
that I like to use from Martha Stewart:
