When I first bought this floppy hat at Urban Outfitters back in the fall of 2011, it was a real splurge (full-priced!) It isn’t something I wear all the time or even often but every time I do I remember how much I love it. Here’s a few times I’ve rocked it in the past few years; spring 2013 & last winter. This dress on the other hand, was a true gift. I’d been eyeing the navy blue eyelet beauty from Dolce Vita for months after I first saw it at a lingerie shop in East Village. I loved the idea of a long sleeve dress that had some sexy appeal without being super tight. After rocking my Dolce Vita boots on Instagram a million times, their social media girl reached out to me and asked if there were any pieces from the collection I was interested in. THE DRESS! They sent it to me and it was true love as soon as I put it on. They also invited me to their kick-ass Holiday Party and it was my first occasion to show off the dress. At the party I met the (adorable) girl who actually designed the dress. How cool is that?! Such a New York Moment. And that’s why I love living in the city.
